FAQs

What is the current availability of therapy sessions?

I do have some limited capacity to take on new clients; please contact me for availability.

What do therapy sessions cost and how do I pay?

Sessions cost £60 for a 50 minute session.

Face to face appointments - face to face appointments can be paid by cash or bank transfer.

Online appointments - I ask that all online bookings are to be paid by bank transfer upon booking of each appointment.

Are the therapy sessions confidential?

It is extremely important that we build a trusting relationship, and this is why the content shared within our sessions is kept private and confidential.

However, there are some rare circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken:

  • If you disclose that serious harm is being caused to you or you are a serious risk to others

  • If you disclose the risk of possible abuse or neglect of a child

  • If you tell me that you are involved in, or know of, terrorist, drug trafficking or money laundering activities.

If you share thoughts of self-harm or suicide with me, we will work collaboratively to explore these thoughts and feelings and will discuss further support networks and options.

What should I expect when making first contact?

Taking the first step and starting therapy can feel scary, daunting, and overwhelming. This is why I offer a free 15 minute initial consultation to make sure that you are competently comfortable and happy before booking your first session. Within this consultation we can discuss the reasons behind why you have decided to seek therapeutic support and how I can help. I will take a few basic details and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

What happens at the first session?

The first session will be very much about us getting to know each other and building a therapeutic relationship so that you feel comfortable and at ease. It is an opportunity for you share your concerns, expectations, and any goals you may have. We will also discuss the practical side of our work together including payments and policies.

How often are appointments and how many will I need?

Appointments are usually scheduled on a weekly basis; however, I am flexible and work at the client's pace. We can discuss both more frequent and less frequent appointments, depending on your needs.

It is difficult to predict the required number of counselling sessions, as every client is individual with unique needs. Some clients choose to have short term therapy, and some clients prefer to continue with open-ended therapy until they feel that the work is complete or at a point of contentment. We will review our sessions regularly.

What age groups do you work with?
I work with both adults and children/young people over 11 years old.

Do you offer online/remote counselling sessions?

I offer both face to face and online video call.
